What are the advantages?

The PONS Dictionary delivers the reliability of a dictionary which has been editorially reviewed and expanded over the course of decades. The “Examples from the Internet” do, in fact, come from the Internet. We are able to identify trustworthy translations with the aid of automated processes. The main sources we used are professionally translated company, and academic, websites. In addition, we have included websites of international organizations such as the European Union. Because of the overwhelming data volume, it has not been possible to carry out a manual editorial check on all of these documents. What are our future plans?

Zusammenfassung

Weltweit hat sich die Eierproduktion in den letzten 20 Jahren nahezu verdoppelt und die Legehennenbestände wurden stark erweitert. Die jährliche Legeleistung der Hennen hat sich in den letzten 50 Jahren in Folge züchterischer und haltungstechnischer Verbesserungen sowie Fortschritten in der Tierernährung von durchschnittlich 120 auf 285 Eier (im Jahre 2006) erhöht. Mit 45% der Weltproduktion ist China der weltgrößte Eierproduzent vor der EU (11%) und den USA (8%). In der EU wurden im Jahre 2007 ca. 7 Mio. t Eier produziert. Drei Viertel der europäischen Produktion entfallen auf die Länder Frankreich, Spanien, Deutschland, Italien, Großbritannien, die Niederlande und Polen. Mit etwas über 100% ist der Selbstversorgungsgrad in der EU seit vielen Jahren relativ konstant. Die Niederlande und Deutschland weichen dennoch von einer ausgeglichenen Versorgungsbilanz ab. Während die Niederlande den höchsten Selbstversorgungsgrad mit ca. 220% haben, stellt Deutschland einen attraktiven Absatzmarkt für Eier und Eiprodukte dar, weil der Selbstversorgungsgrad hier nur ca. 68% beträgt. Demnach stammen etwa zwei Drittel der in Deutschland verbrauchten Eier aus der Eigenproduktion (etwa 12,7 Mio. Eier/Jahr) und das restliche Drittel wird überwiegend aus den Niederlanden und Belgien importiert. Eine Besonderheit der deutschen Eierproduktion ist die hohe regionale und einzelbetriebliche Konzentration. Etwa 45% des deutschen Hühnerbestandes werden in Niedersachsen (Vechta, Osnabrück, Cloppenburg) gehalten. Der pro-Kopf-Verbrauch an Eiern im Jahr 2007 ist mit durchschnittlich 13,1 kg bzw. 210 Eiern/Jahr leicht rückläufig, dabei ist bei den im Handel erhältlichen Eiern die Nachfrage speziell nach braunen Eiern in Deutschland gestiegen. Spitzenreiter im Eierverbrauch sind Ungarn, Dänemark und Spanien, während der geringste pro-Kopf-Eierverbrauch in Finnland und Portugal gemessen wurde. Den weltweit höchsten Eierverbrauch haben Japan mit ca. 21 kg und China mit ca. 18,5 kg Eiern pro Einwohner und Jahr.
