Große Bandbreite bei St. Töniser Rocknacht

Erst bei Jan Böhmermann, dann auf der Bühne im Forum Corneliusfeld: Die Band "Bioholz" spielte auf der 22. Tönisvorster Rocknacht. Headliner ist "Flash Forward", die bereits beim Viersener "Eier mit Speck"-Festival auftrat.

Mit den Gewinnern des Viersener Bandcontests "Young Talents", Slik Tiger, ist am Freitag das Festival "Eier mit Speck" auf dem Hohen Busch gestartet. Schon am frühen Nachmittag tanzten die Besucher vor der Bühne.

Heute beginnt das "Eier mit Speck"-Festival auf der Rockwiese am Hohen Busch in Viersen. Gestern schlugen die Camper ihre Zelte auf. Schon am Nachmittag ging es dort bei Flunkyball und Partymusik aus den Boxen hoch her

Bereits zum elften Mal fand der Bandwettbewerb statt. Vier Gruppen, die sich in den Vorrunden qualifiziert hatten, traten in der Viersener Festhalle gegeneinander an. Die Sieger stehen bei "Eier mit Speck" auf der Bühne.

Das Eier mit Speck-Festival findet jährlich am letzten vollständigen Juli-Wochenende statt. Über 3000 Besucher legen jedes Jahr weite Strecken zurück, um die angekündigten Bands live zu erleben.

Dabei ist das Publikum bunt gemischt, denn ein festes Genre gibt es bei der Musik auf dem Eier-mit-Speck-Festival nicht. Sowohl Rock, Pop, Hip-Hop als auch Metal, Ska und Elektro sind durch die Künstler dort vertreten.

Die Viersener Open-Air-Veranstaltung zielt zudem nicht nur auf Jugendliche und Erwachsene ab, sondern möchte auch Familien mit Kindern die Chance bieten, sich die dargebotene Musik anzuhören.

Festival mit Frühstück

Als die Veranstalter die Idee hatten, das Eier mit Speck zu gründen, kam zuerst die Überlegung auf, dass es bei ihrem Festival nicht, wie auf anderen Veranstaltungen, am Frühstücksangebot mangeln sollte. So entstand der Plan, den Besuchern ein kostenloses Frühstück mit Eiern und Speck anzubieten und die Veranstaltung entsprechend zu benennen.

Eine Besonderheit im Vorfeld des Festivals ist der "Young Talents"-Wettbewerb für Nachwuchskünstler. Dieser Wettbewerb ist ein Jugendprojekt der Stadt Viersen, in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Jugendheim Hubert-Vootz-Haus und der Rock-Kultur Werkstatt.

Dort können Nachwuchsbands teilnehmen, die einmal auf die große Bühne wollen. In verschiedenen Vorrunden entscheidet eine Jury gemeinsam mit dem Publikum, wer zum Sieger gekürt wird und damit die Chance erhält, auf dem Eier mit Speck-Festival auf einer großen Bühne das Publikum von sich zu überzeugen.

Das Eier mit Speck geht von freitags bis sonntags und kann an den einzelnen Tagen mit Einzeltickets oder das gesamte Wochenende mit einem Kombi-Ticket besucht werden. Die Veranstalter ermöglichen das Zelten auf einem angrenzenden Campingplatz.

Obwohl jedes Jahr viele Bands eingeladen werden, die noch vor ihrem Durchbruch stehen und überregional noch nicht so bekannt sind, enthält das Line-Up auch immer Künstler, die es im Musikgeschäft schon weit gebracht haben.
