Can You Hatch An Egg On A Treadmill In "Pokemon Go"? The App Is Useless At The Gym
Part of being a successful PokГ©mon trainer in "Pokemon Go" is tied to being a successful PokГ©mon breeder. For the concerned, that doesВ notВ mean giving birth to a bunch of PokГ©mon so much as it means incubating a lot of eggs with periodic walks. В You may think that a hack for hatching eggs quickly would be as simple as a trip to the gym (like, LA Fitness versus Viridian), and you can systematically hatch eggs using a treadmill. But as it turns out, the game will knowВ damnВ well whether you're searching far and wide or not.
I hate to rain on your parade if you haven't figured it out yet, but here it goes: when it comes to hatching, "Pokemon Go" does not track steps like a pedometer. Instead, it measures theВ distanceВ you've walked; remember, the app is GPS based and a huge element of the game is about traversing to different locations. Therefore, if you need to travel 10 km to hatch an egg, you actually have to cross the length of that distance before you see any critters cracking out of it. So while, yes, taking a trip on the treadmill gets you +1 points for health, it's not going to help you hatch your eggs any quicker.
However, there are more than enough tricks to travel across the land and hatch your eggs without really walking (if you so choose to go the lazy route). Ideally, as long as you're going below about 25 miles per hour, you should be able to rack up distance points to hatch your egg. That means that skateboarding or biking will be effective if you keep it at a realistic walking pace.
And although this isn't wildly vouched for (or something you can truly control), it's worth mentioning that youВ canВ make the most of a traffic jam when it comes to "Pokemon Go." While most car rides, even leisure ones, are a bit too fast to fool the app, bumper-to-bumper traffic can convincingly cover distance. albeit at a Slowbro's pace. I have test drove this method on a nightmare trip from Maine to New York, so I can (sadly) vouch that it works.В
To be fair, though, I really will vouch for the using "Pokemon Go" as an excuse to explore the world around you (as you keep your eyes glued to the screen, trying to catch another Bellsprout). While "Pokemon Go" was created in part to spur exercise, it's also determined to encourage you to get fresh air. And while we're stuck in warmer weather, I can't see any reason why you shouldn't pack a bottle of water with your stock of PokГ© Balls and roam through the neighborhood.
Although once winter rolls around. hm, maybeВ then "Pokemon Go" might want to include a step-friendly way to get your eggs cracking.В

Togepi, Pichu, and other "baby" Pokémon from the game's second generation of creatures are now available — but only by hatching eggs.
If you're unfamiliar with "PokГ©mon Go," you collect eggs by visiting PokГ©stops, which are landmarks for physical locations in the real world that you can spin every five minutes to get more items. Players can hold up to nine eggs at once, and hatch those eggs by putting them in incubators, and walking around for a specified distance (2km, 5km, or 10km) until the egg hatches.
PokГ©mon Go creator Niantic Labs has teased that more creatures are coming to the game soon, and players have yet to see the powerful "Legendaries" like Mewtwo that were shown when the game was first announced.
We've gathered everything you need to know about the seven newest PokГ©mon in PokГ©mon Go, including their descriptions from the official PokГ©dex and information provided by members of The Silph Road on Reddit:
View As: One Page Slides
Description: "As its energy, Togepi uses the positive emotions of compassion and pleasure exuded by people and PokГ©mon. This PokГ©mon stores up feelings of happiness inside its shell, then shares them with others."
Description: "Togetic is said to be a PokГ©mon that brings good fortune. When the PokГ©mon spots someone who is pure of heart, it is said to appear and share its happiness with that person."
Description: "On nights with many shooting stars, Cleffa can be seen dancing in a ring. They dance through the night and stop only at the break of day, when these PokГ©mon quench their thirst with the morning dew."
Description: "Magby's state of health is determined by observing the fire it breathes. If the PokГ©mon is spouting yellow flames from its mouth, it is in good health. When it is fatigued, black smoke will be mixed in with the flames."
Description: "Smoochum actively runs about, but also falls quite often. Whenever the chance arrives, it will look for its reflection to make sure its face hasn't become dirty."
Description: "Igglybuff's vocal cords are not sufficiently developed. It would hurt its throat if it were to sing too much. This PokГ©mon gargles with freshwater from a clean stream."
Description: "Pichu charges itself with electricity more easily on days with thunderclouds or when the air is very dry. You can hear the crackling of static electricity coming off this PokГ©mon."

Original Trainer
The Original Trainer (Japanese: 親 owner), or OT, of a Pokémon is the Trainer who caught or hatched the Pokémon in question first. The Original Trainer's name is used in conjunction with their ID number to verify which Pokémon are outsider Pokémon by the games.
Pokémon receive the OT of the Trainer who originally caught, hatched, received, or snagged the Pokémon. NPC Trainers who give away Pokémon for free will not be registered as the Pokémon's OT, except for in two instances - a Spearow given by Webster and a Shuckle given by Kirk, both in the Generation II games and their remakes. These special instances are different in that the Pokémon received is intended to be later returned, in Webster's case to his friend on Route 31, and in Kirk's case, to him after Silver has been defeated at Mt. Moon, although in the latter case, Kirk will allow the player to keep Shuckle if it has maximum friendship.
A Pokémon bred by a player which is traded as an Egg to another will be registered to the hatching Trainer, while the breeder will not matter. A Shadow Pokémon that has been snagged will initially display its OT as question marks, however, after becoming purified, it will have the person who purified it as its OT, with no mention made of the Trainer it was snagged from.
A Pokémon whose Original Trainer is not the same as its current Trainer is called an outsider Pokémon; this is determined by using the Original Trainer's name, Trainer ID number, Secret ID, and gender. Outsider Pokémon may disobey its Trainer in battle if they lack the appropriate Badges (but they will always obey in link battles). Outsider Pokémon gain 50% more experience than Pokémon trained by their Original Trainer; from Generation IV onward, outsider Pokémon whose language of origin is different to the game's language instead gain 70% more experience.
Only the Original Trainer of a Pokémon can change the nickname of a Pokémon.
If two compatible Pokémon with different Original Trainers are bred, they will produce Eggs more frequently than Pokémon with the same Original Trainer.
Prior to Generation VI, due to a glitch, if an Egg is hatched in a game other than that of the player who generated it, it can hatch with the appearance of a Shiny Pokémon in the cutscene but actually be normally colored, or hatch normally colored but actually be Shiny. This is because the Egg has the same Trainer ID number and Secret ID as the player who generated it before the cutscene, but they change to match the hatching player after the cutscene. This also allows Eggs that are normally prevented from being Shiny (Eggs obtained from event distributions and the Manaphy Egg) to be Shiny, as long as they are hatched in a game other than the game that generated them. In Generation VI, this can no longer happen.
In Black 2 and White 2, the player will have the opportunity to catch Pokémon that were once used by N via the Memory Link. Though the player is the one that catches these Pokémon, the Pokémon will have N as the OT, making N's Pokémon outsider Pokémon. Like other outsider Pokémon, N's Pokémon receive boosted experience points.
Sometimes, there are special Original Trainer names assigned to Pokémon if they come from a non-standard Pokémon game or are received as a prize.

'Pokémon Go' Gen 2 Egg Chart: New guides for hatching the baby Pokémon
How long do you have to walk to hatch those freaking Gen 2 Pokémon Go eggs and get some new Pokémon? These new Pokémon Go egg charts may hold the answer.
Not being able to catch the baby Pokémon introduced by Gen 2 other than by hatching eggs is a pain in the ass, but some new data on Pokémon eggs in Pokémon Go can at least help you figure out which Gen 2 eggs to incubate first.
Editor's note: Please keep in mind that these charts were developed less than 48 hours after the Gen 2 update. The information may change as more data comes in from trainers and we will let you know as soon as it does.

Pokémon Go Gen 2 egg: Which new Pokémon hatch from which eggs?
The Silph Road member trouxnes has put together a simple infographic that shows which Gen 2 Pokémon come from 2-kilometer, 5-kilometer or 10-kilometer eggs.
The toughest Pokémon to hatch will be Smoochum, Magby and Elekid. They all hatch from 10-kilometer eggs, according to this Gen 2 egg chart. Togepi and Pichu hatch from 5-kilometer eggs, while Cleffa and Igglybuff hatch from 2-kilometer eggs.
The same results have been reported by Silph Road member ShotgunMavericks01 , who also provided a reference guide for how many candies are required to evolve all of the new Gen 2 Pokémon. Togepi requires 50 candies to evolve and the other baby Pokémon only require 25 candies, according to the data.

Legendary Pokemon
Legendary Pokemon in Pokemon Go have been promised from the get go. Its first trailer showed a hypothetical event featuring a massive battle against Mewtwo. This page includes a schedule of Legendary Pokemon Raids, the best way to take them down, and a List of Legendary Pokemon in Pokemon Go.

EditLegendary Pokemon Details
Niantic finally confirmed the arrival of Legendary Pokemon days before the first Live Event, Pokemon Go Fest in Chicago July 22, 2017.
Legendary Pokemon are only obtainable by defeating Legendary Pokemon Raids. Once defeated, Trainers will have a chance to capture the rare and powerful Pokemon much how they would a normal Raid Boss.
- You'll know a soon-to-begin Raid will feature a Legendary Pokemon if the Raid Egg is dark blue.
- You will want the full 20 players if you want to make easy work of Legendary Pokemon.
- Fewer can defeat them, at the very least six, but you need high-leveled Pokemon well-suited for the task.
- Legendary Pokemon cannot defend Gyms, but they can battle enemy Gyms and Raid Bosses.
- Base Capture Rate for Legendary Pokemon is only 3%.
- Legendary Pokemon Buddy Distance is 20km per 1 candy.
Because Legendary Pokemon are so difficult to take down, you can find recommended counters to strategically up your chance of defeating them. However, if none of your counters are high CP (1,500+ at the very least, preferably 2000+) you may as well just use your highest CP Pokemon.
EditCatching Legendary Pokemon
Medals awarded for catching certain Types of Pokemon, for example Bird Keeper for Flying-type Pokemon, will increase catch rate as well. To earn the Gold Medal, catch 200 of a specific Type of Pokemon.
Once in the process of catching the Legendary Pokemon:
- Use a Golden Razz Berry for each attempt.
- Use a Curve Ball if you're confident in your accuracy.
- Only throw a Premier Ball right after the Pokemon has attacked, so you can try to ensure your throw won't be interrupted.
- Wait for the Pokemon to re-center if it has moved to an awkward spot.
EditRaikou Raids
Raikou is first appearing in the Americas August 31 - September 30. In Pokemon Gold and Silver, this Legendary Beast would appear in random areas of the map, only to run away to a different far away land when encountered. To somewhat mirror this mechanic, the Legendary Beasts in Pokemon Go will be available in different regions of the world at different times.
EditRaikou Weaknesses
Raikou, as an Electric-type Pokemon, is only weak to one type:
Additionally, Ground-type Pokemon are resistant to Electric-type attacks. This makes the Ground- and Rock-Types Golem and Rhydon with Ground-type moves the most ideal counters to Raikou.
Steelix, with its Ground-type and super high defense, would make a decent anchor Pokemon.
Other Ground-type Pokemon, like Donphan, would be a great choice up against Raikou as well.
EditRaikou Moveset
EditSuicune Raids
Suicune is first appearing in the Asia-Pacific region August 31 - September 30. In Pokemon Gold and Silver, this Legendary Beast would appear in random areas of the map, only to run away to a different far away land when encountered. To somewhat mirror this mechanic, the Legendary Beasts in Pokemon Go will be available in different regions of the world at different times.
EditSuicune Weaknesess
Suicune, as a Water-type Pokemon, is weak to the following types:
Exeggutor will resist Suicune's Water-type attacks and deal super effective damage with its Grass-type attacks. Though Zapdos won't resist Suicune, it will do an incredible amount of damage.
Venasaur would be a good choice, but may be susceptible to Suicune's possibly Psychic-type quick move. Raikou, Jolteon, Meganium, and other Electric- or Grass-type Pokemon are also respectable.
EditSuicune Moveset
EditEntei Raids
Unable to determine YouTube video ID
Entei is first appearing in Europe and Africa August 31 - September 30. In Pokemon Gold and Silver, this Legendary Beast would appear in random areas of the map, only to run away to a different far away land when encountered. To somewhat mirror this mechanic, the Legendary Beasts in Pokemon Go will be available in different regions of the world at different times.
EditEntei Weaknesses
Entei, as a Fire-type Pokemon, is weak to quite a few types:
As such, there are quite a few good counters against Entei. The most common of these is the Water-type Vaporeon, but Rock-type Pokemon, like Tryanitar are exceptional as well. Both are resistant to Fire-type attacks.
Dragonite, though it doesn't have any super-effective moves, is resistant to Entei's Fire-type attacks and is overall a well-rounded Pokemon. Omastar and Golem are again useful when up against Entei, as they are with many other Legendary Pokemon.
EditEntei Moveset
EditMewtwo Raids
Mewtwo first appeared on August 14 during the Pikachu Outbreak in Yokohama. This Legendary Pokemon began appearing in Exclusive (EX) Raid Battles September 6 at certain sponsored gyms. The EX Raids are still in beta and will soon be more widely available. Mewtwo will only appear in Exclusive Raids.
EditMewtwo Weaknesses
Mewtwo, as a Pyschic-type Pokemon, is weak to the following types:
Also worth noting is that Dark-type Pokemon are very resistant to Psychic-type moves, making the Dark- and Rock-type Tyranitar an ideal partner against Mewtwo.
Unfortunately, Mewtwo does have a 25% chance of having the Fighting-type Charge Move Focus Blast, which is super effective against Tyranitar. However, Tyranitar is resistant to Mewtwo's other possible Charge Attacks - so just be weary of which charge move the Mewtwo has.
Umbreon would be a good choice to put at the end of a team, as it has high survivability against Mewtwo - just be ready to dodge those Focus Blast attacks if it has them.
Pinser, Houndoom, and other Bug- and Dark-types are decent choices. Gengar, though it will do an impressive amount of damage, is weak to Mewtwo's Pyschic-type attacks and cannot survive long.
EditMewtwo Moveset
EditZapdos Raids
Zapdos began appearing on August 7, 2017, and will remain until August 14. It is speculated that Ho-Oh will appear once Zapdos is removed from Raids.
EditZapdos Weaknesses
Zapdos, as an Electric- and Flying-type Pokemon, is weak to the following types:
These will do 1.4x the usual damage. Unlike the other two Legendary Birds, Zapdos does not have a dual weakness. Additionally, many Pokemon that know Ice-type attacks are weak to Electric-type moves, like the Water- and Ice-type Lapras, or aren't generally very strong, like Jynx. Remember that Flying-type Pokemon will take Super Effective damage from Zapdos we well.
Golem, a Ground- and Rock-type, will resist Zapdos' Electric-type attacks and dish out extra damage with Rock-type moves. Just make sure the Golem has Rock-type moves, as although Ground-type attacks are usually Super Effective against Electric-type Pokemon, Zapdos' Flying-type neutralizes the buff.
Tyranitar, though it isn't resistant to Zapdos, can still dish out a great deal of damage if its Charge Attack is Stone Edge. Piloswine will resist Zapdos and deal Super Effective damage with its Charge Attack Avalanche, but can't learn an Ice-type Fast Attack. Rhydon will resist Zapdos' attacks, and can learn Stone Edge, but Zapdos has resistance to both of it's fast attacks (the STAB on Mud Slap makes it the slightly better of the two).
Dragonite's Dragon-typing resistance and Flying-typing weakness allows it to sustain only neutral damage from Electric-type attacks, and though it can't deal Super Effective damage, it's still a generally strong contender in raids.
EditZapdos Moveset
EditMoltres Raids
EditMoltres Weaknesses
Moltres, as a Fire- and Flying-type Pokemon, is weak to the following types:
Each of these will do 1.4x the usual damage.
- Rock
Golem with two Rock-type attacks is the best counter to Moltres, as it's resistant to all of Moltres' attacks and will deal 1.96x damage. Compared to Omastar, it's easier to obtain and has a higher attack power.
Omastar with Rock-type moves is a fantastic counter to Moltres as well though. Like Golem, it's resistant to Moltres' attacks, and if it has Rock-type moves, will do 1.96x damage as well. Even if your Omastar has Water-type moves, it will still do extra damage.
Strong Water-type Pokemon with decent defense like Gyarados, Vaporeon, and Kingdra, if it has Water-type moves, will do well against Moltres. Tyranitar, though it doesn't have access to two moves that are super-effective, will do well along with other favorites like Dragonite.
EditMoltres Moveset
EditLugia Raids
Lugia first appeared in Raids July 22, 2017, at the conclusion of Pokemon Go Fest. It is unclear how long it will be available. Lugia is especially tough to take down. Plan on having 20 trainers, or at least 8 of very well-prepare, high-level players. Lugia will cease from appearing in Raids on Aug. 31, 2017, and it is unknown when it will appear again.
EditLugia Weaknesses:
Lugia, as a Psychic- and Flying-type Pokemon, is weak to the following types:
Each of these will do 1.4x the usual damage.
Lugia is able to attack with Psychic, Flying, Dragon, and Water-type moves.
Tyranitar would be a good offensive Pokemon to take Lugia on, but you must be especially wary of its Hydro Pump charged attack and plan on manually dodging those, or your Tyranitar may be one-shot.
Jolteon, with Electric-type moves, and Omastar, with Rock-type moves, will also be good choices. Gengar has super-effective Ghost-type attacks, but is weak to Lugia's Psychic-type attacks.
EditLugia Moveset
EditArticuno Raids
Articuno first appeared in Raids July 22, 2017, at the conclusion of Pokemon Go Fest, and will only be available in its first run until July 31, 2018.
EditArticuno Weaknesses:
Articuno, as an Ice- and Flying-type Pokemon, is weak to the following types:
Each of these will do 1.4x the usual damage.
Rock-type attacks will do 1.96x the damage, being undoubtedly the best type to attack Articuno with.
Articuno only attacks with Ice-type moves, giving Omastar a fantastic advantage against the legendary bird if it has Rock-type attacks. The Rock- and Water-type Fossil Pokemon Omastar does 1.96x the damage with its Rock-type moves, and is resistant to Articuno's Ice-type attacks.
Houndoom is also resistant to Articuno, and will do super-effective damage with its Fire-type attacks. Tyranitar is also a good choice, taking neutral damage but dishing out super-effective Rock-type attacks.
EditArticuno Moveset
EditList of Legendary Pokemon in Pokemon Go
We will update this list as Legendary Pokemon become available.
EditUnmentioned legendary pokemon
These Legendary Pokemon have been noticeably absent from trailers. These include the mythical Pokemon Mew and Celebii, both of which were incredibly difficult to procure in the main Pokemon games. The only way to find Celebii and Mew in the original Pokemon games are through special events.

Serena (anime)
Character information
Region:
Hometown:
Friends:
Occupation:
Voice actor:
Serena is a Pokémon Trainer and Performer from the Kalos region and was one of Ash's traveling companions during his journey in the Kalos Region. Her goal is to be named Kalos Queen, the highest prestige achievable for Pokémon Performers. She and Ash met before the events of the series when Ash aided her in her time of need. She developed a strong crush on him from that day on and it became one of her most notable characteristics, evident through her blushing whenever she looks at, talks to or is amazed by him.
Appearance
Serena's first outfit consisted of a dark gray tank top with a white collar, dark gray stockings, long honey blond hair that reaches just above her waist, medium skin tone, red double waist side buttons pleated skirt, black hi-tops with pink semi-Poké Ball printing on the sides similar in design to Hilda's, and a dark pink hat paired with a black hatband and ribbon bow. Serena marks a return to basing Ash's female companion off of that generation's female player character in the video games. However, Serena is also the first to have undergone minor cosmetic changes for the transition to the anime, whereas May and Dawn remained the same. Among the cosmetic changes are;
- She appears a little younger or shorter than her game counterpart.
- Her fingernails are short and trimmed like most other characters on the show, rather than long like her game counterpart.
- Her fingernails are kept natural without any nail polish on, while her game counterpart wears a faint pink nail polish.
- Her shirt collar is white instead of black.
- The sunglasses on the hat are replaced by her tiny bow.
- She doesn't have a Mega Ring.
- Her eyes are blue despite the fact that her game counterpart is a gray color (even her game counterpart's contacts can be changed to blue).
- Her hat appears larger, more curved, looking similar to a straw hat.
- She wears high-top shoes unlike her game counterpart, who wears sneakers; however, they are in the same design.
- The line going down from the top of her shoes, down to the soles, is one straight line, while on her game counterpart's sneakers, they are two separate lines.
- She also does not have the purse that her game counterpart does, instead having a backpack.
Starting from A Showcase Debut! onward, she wears a new outfit with her hair styled in a short wavy bob and wears a new reddish-pink fedora, a bright pink dress with a white collar, her gray top underneath, and a red waistcoat with a blue ribbon on her chest, the same stockings, and brown boots. When she was young, she wore a pink dress, with Mary Jane shoes, and a straw hat tied by a light pink hatband, and ribbon. For pajamas, she wears a lavender hoodie with pink heart insignias on the hips with dark-pink shorts, along with a red or pink bow. As of A Frolicking Find in the Flowers!, she wears pink sandals whenever she's in her pajamas while outside.
Personality
Serena is a very kind and polite girl. She is always concerned about what her friends are doing. She also has a passion for fashion and clothes. She tries to find the prettiest clothes and finds that whatever her mother picks out tends to be the less fashionable variety. Knowing this, she hates getting dirty and being soaked in mud. Serena has developed strong feelings for Ash, constantly blushing when interacting with him. She has also begun to take on his determination, greatly inspired by his motto: "Don't give up till it's over", and as such begins to takes hits for her Pokémon like he does. She also tends to get flustered whenever someone brings up her crush on him and blush quite heavily, namely whenever Miette appears or when Shauna accused her of liking him altogether, she also seemed rather flustered when Penelope requested Ash to be with her before discovering what she really meant. Serena can sometimes blame herself for problems that occur or whenever she fights with her friends, even though her friends tell her it's alright or that it was not her fault.
Serena is shown to be a skilled baker and enjoys baking for her friends and Pokémon frequently, but she has skill in cooking other things as well. She also has some skills in Rhyhorn racing due to her mother being a racer, because of the upbringing she possesses a unique charm when it comes to them and they nearly all gravitate towards her without question in doing anything. Serena has grown to be a great performer and dancer, shown in the showcases she entered. She became a good battler, as she watched Ash's battles for a long period, and got to be pretty good at fishing.
Relationships
Grace is Serena's mother. She wanted her to be a Rhyhorn racer like her, but seeing her passion in performing, she began to see she wants to do her own thing and respected it. She admits that on her journey that she saw a changed in Serena and was proud of the person she became.
Although they're close friends Serena has a big crush on Ash which started when they first met when they were little which he helped her out after getting lost in the forest also she hurt herself when a Poliwag startled her. Ever since traveling with him she would blush whenever she was amazed by him, talks to him or when people talk about her crush. She even helps him out and is always worry about him whenever they get separated, when he gets hurt, or when he does things that are dangerous just to help out Pokémon also there have been times she warns him about things. There been times she scolded him for his habits and had only one fight with him but it was to help Ash snap out of his depression, after his lose for his last badge. Serena temporally had doubts about Ash, after their fight and during the search for him in a snowstorm, although she did tried shaking them off, even when Ash thanked her for helping him. However Serena still had doubts left in her, shown in Ash's rematch for his last badge, but she still believed in him, through out the battle. Serena did let her doubts go for good, when Ash won his last badge. Serena supports him all the way and looks up to him showing she been influenced by Ash. Before leaving for her next adventure Serena gave a kiss to Ash admitting her crush on him and thanking him for everything he did for her, along with the declaration to be an even more amazing lady for him when they meet again.
Serena views Bonnie like a little sister due to both being girls. They are best friends and do a lot of girls stuff together. Serena sometimes stops Bonnie from asking girls to take care of Clemont when he's not around showing she can get annoyed with that habit. Serena would do anything to protect her from danger and would comfort her when needed.
Serena does view Clemont as a good friend to be around and respect his knowledge about Pokémon, due to being a Gym Leader. She can get annoyed when his invention fails and when they blow up but is sometimes happy when his inventions work. She would help him set up the table when they're having breaks or having a meal. She would help him cook sometimes as well.

Serena being helped by Ash and developing a crush on him during their first meeting.
Despite being Ash's newest female companion who just started her journey, she had previously met him when they were younger back in Pallet Town years ago at Professor Oak's Pokémon summer camp. Serena was lost in the woods while trying to look for the rest of her group, resulting in herself getting wounded after getting startled by a Poliwag. But at that very same moment, Ash came to her aid and escorted her out. Since that day, she kept the handkerchief he used as a bandage as a way to remember the kind act and inspiring advice he gave her.
Season 17: XY
Serena watches the news and recognizes Ash.
Years later, Serena was always woken up by her mother's Fletchling. Fletchling would use its beak on Serena's head, then she would scream at the former and try to grab it. Soon she would be called by her mother to do morning training with her Rhyhorn. Despite her mother's attempts to get her to become a Rhyhorn racer, Serena would complain about how much she hated it, especially when Rhyhorn knocked her off its back. Later in one day of routine practices, Serena and her mother were watching the news on TV about a Garchomp rampaging across Lumiose City. As they watched, they spotted a boy accompanied by a Pikachu and a Froakie climbing to the top of Prism Tower to calm it down. When Garchomp was successfully calmed, the ground beneath the boy's Pikachu gave way and the boy jumped off the tower, making Serena gasp out of fear for his safety. She was relieved when he and his Pikachu were miraculously saved by a Mega Blaziken at the very last minute. When the news cut to a shot of Ash and zoomed in closer so that the viewers could get a look at his face, Serena was stirred, believing it to possibly be Ash, though she referred to him as "that boy" as she didn't yet have any solid confirmation that it was him. It was Ash's reappearance in Kalos that convinced Serena to start out on her journey to become a Pokémon Trainer.
Serena getting ready for her journey.
The next day Serena went to Lumiose City to get her very first Pokémon from Professor Sycamore to start her journey. When she got there, she found out two things: that it was, in fact, Ash she'd seen on the news earlier, and that he was headed to Santalune City for his first Pokémon Gym Battle to participate in the Kalos Pokémon League. Serena chooses Fennekin as her starter and traveled to Santalune City to catch up with him.
When she arrived she found Ash in the middle of a Gym Battle but saddened after witnessing him losing to Viola's Vivillon. Her hopes of reconnecting with him were dashed when he ran right past her without looking at her to tend to his Pokémon, but fortunately she noticed he'd left his backpack behind. She met up with him at the Pokémon Center to return it and was about to ask him if he remembered her before being interrupted by the Pokémon Center bell. She later got to ask him properly during a break in his training; in typical Ash fashion, he did not, much to her dismay. She told Ash where she'd seen him and repeated the words he'd once said to her during their first encounter: "Don't give up 'til it's over!" Those words gave Ash the inspiration he needed to continue his training as it reminded him that he needed to remember his fighting spirit. She later helped him again during his Gym Battle by calling out to him to remember the training from yesterday, which successfully helped him to win his first Kalos Pokémon League Gym Badge.
Serena meet Ash, Clemont, Bonnie and Dedenne for the first time after Ash's first gym loss.
After that, Ash asked Serena to travel along with him, Clemont and Bonnie, which she happily accepted. While traveling back to Lumiose City in order to head to Cyllage City and helping Ash recall when they first met, Serena is shown to be somewhat skilled at Rhyhorn Racing. She showed Ash how to ride a Rhyhorn, which shows she knows a lot from her mother teaching her about them. In "Giving Chase at the Rhyhorn Race!" it is revealed that Serena does not like Rhyhorn Races, but throughout the episode, she grew to like them better than before. On the day before the Rhyhorn Races, she baked cookies for Ash, Clemont, and Bonnie in the middle of the night.
Serena decides to go with Ash and friends.
The next day, the Rhyhorn Races began, but it was interrupted as Team Rocket disabled the cameras. Serena became worried that something terrible might have happened to Ash, so she came along with Clemont and Bonnie to see what was going on. When they found him, they discovered that he had been ambushed by Team Rocket and they find him trapped in a net while his Pikachu and the Rhyhorn were trapped in cages. As Clemont used his Bunnelby to trap Team Rocket in a ditch, Serena and Bonnie arrived to rescue Ash. Serena used her Fennekin to fight off Team Rocket and make them drop the remote. This indicated that this is her first Pokémon battle in her journey as a Trainer. When Team Rocket was blasted off by the Rhyhorn they captured, she introduced her friends to her mother. She then tells her that she decided to travel with Ash and his friends. She thought her mother would disagree with her decision, but instead she said it would be a better experience for her. Afterwards, she gave her friends each a bag of cookies as a way of saying thank you to Ash for all he did for her.
While traveling, she was unsure about what kind of dream she wanted to chase after. Eventually, after making her very first Pokévision (which became very popular as even Shauna, Tierno and Trevor watched many times), participating in the Pokémon Summer Camp, meeting an aspiring Pokémon Performer named Shauna, and learning about Pokémon Showcase, she decided to pursue to becoming a Performer and become the next Kalos Queen.
Serena, Fennekin and her first capture, Pancham as she take her first step as a Pokémon Performer.
While watching a Performance, Serena witnessed a Pancham interrupt the performer to put on a little routine of its own. Serena tracked it down and discovered it wanted to perform too and gave it her favorite pair of sunglasses. When the rest of the gang showed up to accost Pancham, Serena held them back, stating she wanted to catch it. Her battle was interrupted when Team Rocket captured Fennekin. As Pancham tried to rescue it, Jessie ordered her Pumpkaboo to attack them. Unwilling to let her Pokémon get hurt, Serena tackled Pumpkaboo to the ground. This enraged Jessie, who then ordered Pumpkaboo to attack her. Just as Pumpkaboo was about to, Pancham intervened to protect her. When Team Rocket was blasted off again, Serena finished her battle with Pancham, making her first capture after two tries.
Season 18: XY Kalos Quest
Later, Serena met up with her mother again when Grace was teaching a group of people how to ride Skiddo. Throughout this time, she kept her aspirations of becoming a Pokémon Performer secret from her mother, hoping to tell her when she built up the courage. When Team Rocket looted some cheese and goods from a nearby dairy, Serena's friends chased after them on Skiddo. Knowing they wouldn't be fast enough, she got on Grace's Rhyhorn and chased down Team Rocket's truck. After Team Rocket was sent packing, Serena finally worked up the courage to tell her mother that instead of becoming a Rhyhorn Racer, she wanted to be a Pokémon Performer. Grace expressed her concerns that Serena wouldn't go through with it, pointing out that she would give up on something when she thought she couldn't do it. She proposed a race: if she won, Serena would resume training for Rhyhorn Racing; if Serena won, she would be free to pursue her dream. Grace gained an early lead during the race when Serena fell off her Skiddo. Remembering all she'd been through before this, Serena got back on and managed to come around from behind and come in first. Free to pursue her dream, Serena parted ways with her mother on better terms now that they better understood each other.
Serena appreciates Ash's gift.
Following Ash's fourth Gym Battle against Ramos, the gang was still in town when they heard from Ramos about a ceremony where Trainers gave gifts to their Pokémon. As Clemont and Bonnie elected to stay behind at the Center, Ash and Serena left their Pokémon in Bonnie's care and went off together to find gifts. While they were walking away, Serena thought to herself that she felt like she was on a date with Ash. She nervously tried to hold his hand but couldn't work up the courage. During their time in Coumarine City's shopping district, Ash frequently asked Serena her opinion on various gifts, but each time she pointed out their poor potential. Ash later left her by herself to go find a gift on his own, hurting her feelings and making her pout as she'd wanted to spend the whole day with him. Later, while she and Ash were on the monorail headed home, she got to see the ribbon Ash received from the monorail company. While she thought it was pretty, Ash was more concerned about the fact that he didn't yet have something to give his Pokémon. Serena clued him in, saying they would be happy to receive any gift so long as it was from him. She elaborated by asking Ash what he would like to get as a gift, pointing out this his Pokémon took after him. She later met up with Ash again when he returned from preparing his gift. She later had to blast off Team Rocket with the rest of the gang when they showed up wanting to steal everyone's presents. After all was said and done, Serena discovered a present under the tree addressed to her. Opening it up, she discovered a beautiful dress which she later found out was from her mother, whose support she found incredibly touching. To make her day even better, Serena was given a present from none other than Ash himself, as thanks for helping him find a gift for his Pokémon. Serena was overjoyed and happily accepted the gift, promising to cherish it.
Serena in her new look, Fennekin, and Pancham after her first loss, more determine than ever to be the next Kalos Queen.
On the day of her first Showcase, Serena met up with Shauna again and the two began their friendly rivalry. While she waited for her turn, Serena became increasingly nervous. When her turn finally came, she decorated Fennekin with a top hat and ribbon. The ribbon would be her undoing as it was too long; when she least expected it, Fennekin tripped on the ribbon and fell. Serena cradled Fennekin in her arms in front of the crowd, finishing dead last in her block of three. She watched as the Performers did their routines for the Free Performance round, sad she wasn't among them. She hid her feelings from the others, even to the point of directing the conversation towards where Ash would go for his fifth Gym Badge. Very early next morning, before sunrise, she stood with her Pokémon at the docks. Unable to contain her grief and frustration any longer, she broke down in tears and began to cry. Her Pokémon tried desperately to cheer her up, jumping into her arms to show their support. Motivated, Serena stopped crying and apologized to them, saying their loss was her fault. She got out her fashion case and took out her scissors, going to the end of the dock. Putting the scissors to her hair, she remembered all the events of her journey leading up to this moment. She cut her hair short as the sun rose on a new day, and a new her. Later that morning, she presented her new look to her friends. Their reactions were mixed: Clemont wondered what had happened; Bonnie lamented Serena cutting her hair as she liked it long; Ash was the only one who had a positive reaction, saying it looked good on her before noticing she was wearing the ribbon he gave her. Fully rebounded after her loss, Serena was the first one out of the Pokémon Center, goading her friends saying she'd leave them behind if they weren't fast enough. Now understanding what it was like to lose, she left Coumarine City with a little more life experience under her belt.
When Clemont parted ways with the gang to return to Lumiose City, he asked Serena to take care of Bonnie in the meantime, to which she told him to leave it to her as Bonnie tearfully told her brother she'd be alright.
Serena, Braixen recently evolved from Fennekin, and Pancham thanks Arianna for good advice.
Serena practiced with Pancham and Fennekin for her next performance. Serena told her Pokémon her plan for the next showcase's free performance and started practicing, but as Pancham jumps through a ring of fire created from Fennekin's Flamethrower, his bum caught on fire, but was put out by the ground. Pancham got mad, but Serena suggested that they started over. The second time, Pancham manage to jump through to ring of fire, but crashed into Fennekin, which caused both of them to argue. Pancham jumped onto Serena's shoulder, to which Fennekin used Flamethrower to hit Pancham, but accidentally hit Serena's face while Pancham dodged the attack. Serena got mad and shouted at Pancham and Fennekin, but after she noticed what she has said, Serena said that she needed time alone to calm down. [1]
Serena was looking into a window of a store until a girl came up and startled her by saying that hat would match her the best. The girl introduced herself as Arianna (when she really is Aria) and told her it's always important for girls to keep smiling. Arianna asked Serena if she wants to go shopping with her since she is alone. As they went into a shop to look at somethings Serena told Aria her dream was to become the Kalos Queen just like Aria. Then Aria asks her which bracelet she should get and Serena suggested the blue one. Aria thought that was a good idea but thought the red one looks great too which made Serena smile and laugh. Serena told Aria that she lost her Coumarine Showcase during the first round and Aria told her she saw the showcase. She told her that she had gotten mad at Fennekin and Pancham. After leaving the shop, they went somewhere to eat. While talking to Aria, she saw a girl giving a Poké Puff to her Furfrou, causing her to think about Fennekin and Pancham and start to cry. Aria suggested that she should apologize since she yelled at them. Returning to the Pokémon Center, Ash tells her that Fennekin and Pancham were worried about her. Once all three made amends, they agreed to engage Arianna in their first Double Battle, during which Fennekin evolved into Braxien, but Arianna got called away before they could finish. Upon realizing that she spent the day with Aria, the Kalos Queen herself, it only helped to raise her spirits about becoming the Queen herself one day.
Serena and her Pokémon happy at their first Showcase win.
Eventually, Serena entered her second Pokémon Showcase, this time competing against Miette and Jessie, only this time, despite a mishap with Serena's dress, due to Jessie's indirect interference, she came out victorious and earned her first Princess Key. [2]
Serena and the rest of the heroes welcoming her new Eevee to the team.
As she traveled with Ash and co., Serena soon found a shy Eevee that had impressive dancing skills and wanted to use those moves during her next performance. While she and her friends tried to find Eevee, Serena's life was unexpectedly saved when Eevee called out to her to prevent her from falling down a cliff. In gratitude, Serena left a flower crown for Eevee to wear. The next day, Clemont attempted to lure Eevee with Serena's Poké Puffs. However, Eevee took it without Clemont noticing and made him believe that his Chespin ate it. Serena decided to perform in order to get Eevee to reveal itself to the group, which met with success. After thwarting Team Rocket's attempt to capture Eevee, she added it to her party as her third Pokémon. [3]
Eevee was introduced to Shauna and Tierno. Shauna excitedly told Serena about all of Eevee's possible evolutions, in which Serena took a liking to Glaceon while Eevee seemed to take a liking to Jolteon. Inside the Pokémon Center, Serena decided that Eevee should get over its shyness, so Ash, Clemont, and Bonnie called out some of their Pokémon to help Eevee become more comfortable. Encouraged by Clemont's Bunnelby, Eevee brushed her tail over each and every Pokémon save for Chespin, whose accidental outburst scared Eevee into tears. Later, Serena and Shauna teamed up against Ash and Tierno in a Double Battle. Eevee was shy and hesitant to battle at first, but with encouragement from the Pokémon, Eevee was able to make a comeback by learning the rhythm of Tierno and his Blastoise and following it up with Swift. Inspired by Eevee's dance moves, Serena called off the battle. Wanting to use them for her performance, she asked Eevee to teach her and her team her beautiful dance moves, to which Eevee agreed. [4]
At Anistar City, Eevee was startled by Jessie's use of fireworks during her performance and ran off. Serena begged the gate attendant to let her look for Eevee, willing to risk being disqualified to make sure her Pokémon was safe. With the gang's help, she desperately searched for Eevee but to no avail. Eevee, who was hiding under a bench, saw Serena looking for her noticed how worried she was, mustering up her courage to run to her trainer. With Eevee safe and sound, Serena made it back in time for her performance in which Braixen and Pancham dazzled the crowd utilizing Eevee's dance moves in tandem with their own attacks. She earned her second Princess Key, needing only one more to qualify for the Master Class. [5]
Season 19: XYZ
While relaxing with her Pokémon and the rest of the gang in a flowery meadow, Serena witness a lovestruck Quilladin vying for Eevee's affections. While she ultimately stood by Eevee, Serena was nonetheless gentle in letting Quilladin down easy before finding out how fickle his heart was. [6]
Serena performing with Braixen and Eevee.
After arriving in Couriway Town, Serena entered her fourth Showcase intent on winning her final key. However, as this was Eevee's first performance, she had to keep assuaging the latter's anxieties which had come to a head the last time. During the Free Performance, Serena, Eevee and Braixen charmed the audience with their dance routine. Leaping into the air, Eevee prepared to land on Braixen's branch. However, she got distracted by the crowd and her anxieties came to a head once again, causing her to lose her balance and fall off. Knowing Eevee felt upset, Serena encouraged her to keep on dancing and sticking to the routine. Though still nervous about being around and in front of people, Eevee got up to finish Serena's performance. Because of Eevee's misstep, Serena lost the Showcase. Though Eevee felt bad and blamed herself for the loss, Serena told Eevee not to worry and raised her up into the air, growing closer with her after turning what would've been a repeat of her first failure into a moment of growth for them both. [7]
Serena was later present for the gang's battle with Team Flare in Terminus Cave, calling on Braixen to battle against their Skorupi, Drapion, Houndour and Bisharp. [8]
Serena dancing with Clemont.
Serena attended a dance party in which she was partnered up with Ash to face Miette and a disguised James, in which Slurpuff seemed to have the upper hand on Eevee. Serena gave Eevee some encouraging words and their bond increased, as Eevee evolved into a Sylveon, where she learned to use Fairy Wind and won the battle. Afterwards, Serena and the others left, her bond with Sylveon is now stronger than ever. [9]
She participated in the Frey Pokémon Showcase and successfully wins the Fleurrh City Princess Key against Amelia to qualify for the Master Class Competition. She was not sure of herself when she talked to the famous Pokémon Judge named Palermo. [10]
Serena participates in the Master Class Showcase and made it to the semi-finals. [11]
Serena and her Pokémon during the Master Class Finals.
Serena makes it through the semi-finals to earn the right to challenge Aria for the title of Kalos Queen in the finals, but lost due to her swollen left wrist after her performance in the semi-finals. She becomes a Runner-Up, yet proved herself a worthy rival for Aria. She also gets a card from Palermo to train her to be the next Kalos Queen, but she doesn't accept it, because she wants to keep traveling. But the offer is still open for her to accept later. [12]
She impersonated herself as Ash, who was sick with a cold after an intense night of training, when a trainer named Jimmy and his Pikachu, Spike, challenged the latter for a Pokémon battle. Her plan went well until Team Rocket interfered. But when Ash recovered from his cold and blasted Team Rocket off, she apologized to Jimmy for not telling the truth. But Jimmy forgave her and joined the group for lunch. [13]
Serena's been deeply worried about Ash when he hasn't returned to the Pokémon Center after his defeat against Wulfric. She decided to go into the Winding Woods and look for him. But once she found him, he was still depressed. Serena attempted to cheer him up by telling him if something bothering him he can talk to her and she'll listen whenever he needed her also that she knows how it feels to lose. Then when she was about to remind him of her own lose Ash, who is still depressed, gets up and lashes out at Serena thus starting an argument between them before Serena, while realizing he lost his confidences, threw snowballs at Ash in anger. When they got to the spot where Serena last saw him they realize he was gone, assuming he took shelter somewhere, however they couldn’t continue the search due to the storm getting worse. Whlie taking shelter in a nearby cave Serena tells Braixen, Bonnie, Clemont, and Pikachu that she let something Ash said get to her, thinking this is her fault that Ash went further into the woods because of there fight. Serena admits to her friends that Ash is someone she admires him a lot even Clemont admits the same thing. Then she wonders if Ash will be ok while looking at the fire more worried which makes her have more doubts about Ash but Clemont, Bonnie and Pikachu assure her that Ash will be alright. Hearing her friends certainty‘s that there friend will be alright made Serena feel a little bit better and they all went to sleep. Once the storm died down they were gonna continue there search for Ash but he and Greninja came to them instead, somehow knowing where they were at much to her and her friends relief that both of them were unharmed. After Ash and Greninja apologize to everyone for worry them then Serena was about to apologize to Ash from earlier however Ash stopped her but it was only to thank her for knocking some senses into him, also as an apology from earlier. Upon hearing this made Serena very glad that Ash's confidences have been restored. [14] However Serena wasn't entirely sure that Ash had his confidences back shown before and during the rematch against Wulfric. Despite her uncertainty she still had faith in him all the way even when she, Clemont and Bonnie see that he and his Greninja perfected the Ash-Greninja form. After the battle was over Serena was incredibly happy that Ash does have his confidence back for good.
After making their way to the Kalos league she supported Ash all the way also along the way, she meets Mairin before the final match between Ash and Alain. After the match, she watches Team Flare's plans going into place, then goes to Prism Tower with Clemont and Bonnie to find Squishy and was shocked when she finds out it was a Zygarde.

When everyone regroup Serena decided to stay behind to keep Bonnie and Mairin safe. After Chespie was safe she helped stop the Megalith Zygarde before Squishy and Z2 finish it off for good.
After the crisis was over she helped Clemont rebuilt the gym also she helped Mairin prepare a welcome back party for Alain later she help everyone defeat Team Rocket after another failed attempt to steal Ash's Pikacku again. This calculator simply attempts to calculate the IVs (what are Pokémon IVs?) for your Pokémon based on the information available.
As multiple IVs can give the same CP and HP values for a Pokémon, sometimes the range given can be quite large.
For example, the Eevee pictured to the right, this could either be a great Pokémon with almost full IVs, or it could be a fairly useless 29% Eevee.
How do I use this tool?
Step 1: Choose your Pokémon that you want to use in the calculator.
Step 2: Fill in the following values as shown on the image:
C Dust required to Power Up the Pokémon
Step 3: If you have just caught this Pokémon, and not powered it up, then check the 'just caught' box as it will help narrow down the results.
Step 4: Click 'Calculate'. The calculator will run and give you the possible IV combinations for your Pokémon below. If the range of possible combinations is too large, you can further refine with the Appraisal system.
What is the 'Appraisal' section?
The appraisal system is a feature on Pokémon Go that gives you information on your Pokémon, helping you to know how good your Pokémon is.
This calculator works seamlessly with the in-game appraisal system, letting you directly enter the information that you get from the game. This will usually help you significantly narrow down your results.
What's in the 'Advanced' section?
If you're still getting a range of results and want to know what your exact IVs are, you can use this feature. This is a further way in which you can narrow down the results, but at the cost of powering up your Pokémon.
To use this feature, enter the stats as normal, but then power up your Pokémon one time, and enter the new stats in this advanced section. This tool will then re-calculate based on your new data, and will help to further narrow down your results. You can do this several times if you are still getting multiple results.
Was bedeutet der IV-Wert in Pokemon Go?
