MediaMarkt is not a centrally controlled network of stores. Instead, each MediaMarkt store is an independent company whose local manager holds a stake of up to ten percent in his store. Milestones of our success story

It was back in 1979 that Helga and Erich Kellerhals, Walter Gunz and Leopold Stiefel came up with the brilliant idea for the very first MediaMarkt store. Scope of processing of personal data

Duration of storage and routine erasure of personal data

Collection of general data and information (log files)

In keeping with Art. 6, para. 1, letter f of the GDPR, our website collects a range of general data and information upon each access that is temporarily stored in a server’s log files. Processing of personal data when making contact, upon registration and when submitting guest orders

a) Making contact

The contact will be logged in order to be able to provide evidence of the contact in accordance with legal requirements. Your consent will be obtained for the data processing when completing the contact form and this Privacy Policy is referenced therein. The data that is collected in connection with this will be deleted by us when the conversation in question is concluded and the matter at hand has been conclusively resolved.

b) Miscellaneous
Based on Art. 6, para. 1, letters c and f of the GDPR, we use and store your personal data and technical information where necessary to prevent or investigate misuse or other illegal behaviour on our website, e.g. to maintain data security in the event of attacks on our IT systems. This may also be done on the basis of orders by public authorities or courts of law, insofar as we are required to do so by law, and also to preserve our rights and interests and to enable a legal defence on our part.

Transmission of personal data to third parties

When transmitting your personal data, we ensure that the level of security is always as high as possible, which is why your data is only transmitted to service providers and partner companies that are carefully selected beforehand and bound by contractual obligations. We transmit your personal data for the conclusion and performance of contracts relating to the performance of deliveries and services on our website to companies affiliated with the Group within Germany to be stored in central databases and for internal Group billing and accounting purposes.     Gekochte Eier kann man einkaufen, aber auch zu Hause zubereiten. Elektrische Eierkocher versprechen, die Eier auf den Punkt zu garen. «Kassensturz» hat die meistverkauften Geräte getestet.

    Zum Test in der Zürcher Hotelfachschule Belvoirpark treten sechs Juroren an. Sie teilen sich in zwei Teams auf, die unterschiedliche Kriterien beurteilen.

    Das erste Team, zwei Studentinnen und ein Dozent des Fachbereichs Industrial Design der Fachhochschule Nordwestschweiz, testet die Handhabung der Geräte und bewerten die Kocher: Wie leicht lassen sie sich bedienen? Wie stabil sind die Einzelteile? Wo herrscht möglicherweise Verbrennungsgefahr?

    Eine Kellnerin serviert die vom ersten Team gekochten Eier dem zweiten Juroren-Team im Raum nebenan. Dort beurteilen drei Tester, ob die Eier – je ein weiches, ein mittelhartes und ein hartes – auf den Punkt gegart sind. Die Eier im Test wiegen alle zwischen 62 und 64 Gramm.

    Die Kocher sind auf solche mittelgrossen Eier geeicht. Die Tester füllen die Messbecher nach Vorgabe der Hersteller. Die Eichstriche bestimmen, wie viel Wasser für welche Garstufe nötig ist. Wenn das Wasser verdampft ist, ertönt der Summton und die Tester nehmen die gekochten Eier heraus.

    Nicht überzeugend

    Die meisten Modelle haben die Jury enttäuscht: Mit Note 2,8 «ungenügend» ist Satrap Eiei 7 von Coop. Dieses Gerät gart die Eier viel zu stark. Coop will den Kocher nachtesten und allenfalls durch ein anderes Gerät ersetzen. Gleicher Mangel bei Koenig Pic: Auf allen Garstufen wird das Ei zu hart gekocht. Koenig schreibt, bei eigenen Tests entsprächen die Kochresultate den Erwartungen.

    «Ungenügend» sind auch Primotecq von Fust und der fast baugleiche Kocher von Rotel. Bei beiden droht Verbrennungsgefahr. Fust sagt dazu, bei eigenen Tests habe ein unabhängiges Labor keine Verbrennungsgefahr festgestellt.

    Nur zwei Kocher schwingen oben aus: Testurteil «gut» für den Kocher von Severin, mit einem Preis von 69 Franken der teuerste im Test. Auch für Cloer, gekauft bei Manor, gibt es die Bestnote 5,2.

    Media Markt und Saturn starten billige Eigenmarken

    Neue Konkurrenz für die Elektro-Riesen: Die Media-Saturn-Holding will Herstellern von Haushaltsgeräten mit Eigenmarken Konkurrenz machen. Schon zu Weihnachten sollen die ersten Produkte in den Filialen stehen - zehn Prozent billiger als vergleichbare Geräte.

    Markenfernseher: Neue Konkurrenz durch Eigenmarken

    Hamburg - Die Handelskette Media-Saturn will Elektrogeräte unter eigenen Marken anbieten. Das kündigte Konzernchef Roland Weise am Donnerstag an. In diesem und im kommenden Jahr werde die Metro-Tochter in den Filialen von Media Markt und Saturn nach und nach vier selbstentwickelte Marken einführen. Die Gewinnmarge bei Eigenmarken ist in der Regel höher als bei Markenprodukten, weil das Unternehmen zwischen wechselnden Herstellern auswählen kann.

    Die Geräte - vom Haarföhn über den Computer bis zum Kühlschrank - sollen vor allem in Asien von Auftragsfertigern produziert werden und etwa zehn Prozent weniger kosten als vergleichbare Markenprodukte. Zu den Herstellern gehören unter anderem Bosch Siemens und Foxconn, das wegen mieser Arbeitsbedingungen in der Kritik steht. "Wir werden in allen Segmenten mit Markenherstellern kooperieren", sagte Einkaufschef Wolfgang Kirsch.

    Langfristig sollen die Eigenmarken fünf Prozent zum Umsatz beitragen. Angesichts eines Nettoumsatzes des Konzerns von 19,7 Milliarden Euro im Jahr 2009 entspricht dies etwa einer Milliarde Euro. "Es wird kein unglaublich großer Anteil sein", sagte Kirsch. Aber selbst ein, zwei oder drei Prozent brächten eine erkleckliche Summe. Über die Kosten des Projekts machte Kirsch keine Angaben.

    Erste Produkte für das Weihnachtsgeschäft

    Bereits im Weihnachtsgeschäft sollen in den Filialen von Media Markt und Saturn Geräte der Billigmarke ok und der im mittleren Preissegment angesiedelten Marke Koenic stehen. Diese sollen vom Eierkocher über Fernseher, Kühlschränke und Waschmaschinen das gesamte Sortiment abdecken. Die Marken Peaq für hochwertige Unterhaltungselektronik und isy für Zubehör sollen 2011 folgen.

    Insgesamt werde es zunächst 60 Artikel unter den Namen der vier neuen Marken geben, später sollen es mehrere hundert werden. Pläne, andere Marken aus dem Sortiment zu nehmen, gibt es Weise zufolge nicht. "Aber wir rechnen mit Verdrängung", sagte er.

    Die neuen Produkte wird es zunächst nur in Deutschland, den Niederlanden, Italien und Österreich geben. Bis 2012 soll die Einführung nach Kirschs Angaben in 16 europäischen Ländern abgeschlossen sein. Insgesamt betreibt der Konzern in diesen Ländern 845 Filialen.

    Vergangene Woche hatte der Elektro-Händlerverband Euronics ebenfalls angekündigt, im kommenden Jahr eigene Marken für die Läden seiner Mitglieder herstellen zu lassen. Media-Saturn und Euronics gelten bei den Lieferanten schon bisher als harte Einkäufer auf dem Markt für Verbraucher-Elektronik.
